Entering the circuit

Attending the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring requires thoughtful planning to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. The circuit features six entrance gates, strategically positioned to provide convenient access to different areas of the venue, including grandstands and General Admission zones.

The circuit gates typically open at 07:30 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, allowing fans plenty of time to find their preferred viewing spots and explore the venue. Arriving early is recommended to fully enjoy the trackside atmosphere, fan activities, and entertainment offerings.

On Thursday afternoon, a special opportunity awaits fans with the public pit lane walk, available for an additional fee (35 euros in 2024). This exclusive experience grants access to the pit lane, providing a closer look at the teams' preparations and a chance to witness the F1 cars up close before the action begins.

Rules for visitors

To ensure a smooth entry and an enjoyable race weekend at the Hungaroring, be sure to leave the following items at home:

Permitted Items:

  • Food: You may bring the equivalent of up to 3 sandwiches.
  • Plastic bottles: Allowed up to a maximum size of 0.5 liters.
  • Strollers: Permitted for easy transport of young children.
  • Umbrellas: Allowed within the Hungaroring area; however, they are not permitted in grandstands. To stay dry without obstructing views, raincoats are recommended.

Prohibited Items:

  • Aerosol sprays (such as varnishes, deodorants, mosquito repellents)
  • Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks exceeding 0.5 litres
  • Animals, except for registered assistance dogs (must be pre-approved by the organizer)
  • Camping equipment such as tents and sleeping bags
  • Chairs and tables
  • Drones or any remote-controlled flying devices
  • Drugs, toxic substances, flammable materials, or chemicals
  • Energy bars or snacks beyond personal consumption
  • Fireworks, smoke bombs, firecrackers, laser pointers, and loud horns
  • Food in large quantities (limited to an equivalent of 3 sandwiches per person)
  • Glass bottles of any kind
  • Large luggage items, including suitcases and trolleys
  • Musical instruments
  • Power banks and portable chargers
  • Scooters and similar personal transport devices
  • Sharp or hazardous objects (e.g., knives, explosives, weapons)

Attending the Hungarian Grand Prix requires careful planning, and choosing the right parking option can make your experience more convenient and enjoyable.

Premium Parking
Premium Parking at the Hungaroring offers a paid parking option conveniently located near the main grandstand area. This option provides quicker access to the circuit and includes the use of the VIP access road, helping to avoid traffic congestion. Premium Parking is available for purchase with any race ticket, with prices starting from around €45, and is in high demand, especially for Sunday, so booking early is recommended. Free Parking
The Hungaroring also offers free parking for passenger vehicles in designated areas around the circuit. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance. Fans using free parking should expect longer walking distances and potential delays during peak times.

Camping

Camping near the Hungaroring is a fantastic way to fully immerse yourself in the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix experience. The camping area is conveniently located close to the track, offering fans easy access throughout the race weekend.

Easy Camping
Easy Camping is located near the Hungaroring circuit, providing clean toilets and hot showers, with electricity available upon request. Visitors can park their cars or motorbikes directly at their camping spot for added convenience. Food and drinks are available on-site, including a simple street food menu and a selection of beverages. Staff are on hand to assist with any issues. Groups of friends and fans are welcome. The campsite operates from Thursday to Monday.

The Hungaroring, located in Mogyoród, just 20 kilometres from Budapest, has been hosting the Hungarian Grand Prix since 1986. As the first Eastern European track to welcome Formula 1, it presents a unique challenge with its tight, twisty layout and limited overtaking opportunities. Spanning 4.381 km (2.722 miles) with 14 corners, the track is often called a “Monaco without the barriers.”
