About the circuit

Silverstone Circuit, located in Northamptonshire, England, is one of the most iconic motorsport venues in the world. Originally a Royal Air Force bomber station during World War II, it was transformed into a racing circuit in 1948, hosting the first-ever Formula 1 World Championship race in 1950. Since then, it has become a traditional part of both F1 and MotoGP, regularly delivering thrilling on-track battles.

Renowned for its fast and flowing layout, Silverstone is a true test of skill for drivers and riders alike. Featuring legendary corners such as Maggotts, Becketts, Copse, and Stowe, the circuit demands precision, bravery, and expert control. While modifications over the years have enhanced safety and track limits, the essence of Silverstone’s exhilarating racing remains unchanged.

MotoGP made its return to Silverstone in 2011, reclaiming the British motorcycle Grand Prix from Donington Park. The track’s mix of high-speed corners and technical sections makes it one of the most demanding circuits for riders, requiring perfect bike balance and tyre management. The long Hangar Straight and sweeping turns create exciting overtaking opportunities, ensuring close and unpredictable racing.
