For those seeking diverse perspectives, Sidestand Grandstand tickets grant access to multiple designated areas around the track. These grandstands are strategically positioned along the straight between Turns 1 and 2, beyond Turn 3 and near the approach to the final corner.

For those driving to the event, on-site parking areas are designated for both cars and motorcycles. Given the large crowds attending the race weekend, arriving early is recommended to secure a spot

Public transport is another option, with buses, taxis, and trains available to Buriram. From the city, local transport services provide easy access to the circuit, making it possible for visitors to reach the venue without the need for personal vehicles.

Rules for visitors

Before heading to Buriram’s Chang International Circuit for the Thailand MotoGP, it’s important to check the list of permitted and restricted items to ensure a hassle-free entry and avoid any delays at security checkpoints.

Allowed items  

  • Binoculars – Personal-use binoculars are permitted for a better view of the action.
  • Cameras and camcorders – Photography and video recording for private use are allowed, but professional equipment, including large film cameras, is prohibited.
  • Food and beverages – Small amounts of food and drinks for personal consumption, such as a sandwich, fruit, snack, or bottled drink, can be brought in. However, numerous food and beverage vendors are available throughout the circuit.
  • Mobile phones – Phones are allowed for communication and personal use.
  • Photography equipment – Standard cameras can be used, but professional cameras, large lenses, and tripods are not permitted.

Prohibited items

  • Alcoholic beverages – Bringing alcohol into the venue is strictly prohibited.
  • Animals – No pets or animals are permitted inside the circuit.
  • Bicycles, scooters, and other transport devices – Personal transportation, including bicycles and scooters, must be left outside the premises.
  • Cannons, flares, smoke bombs, and pyrotechnics – The use of any pyrotechnic devices is strictly banned.
  • Drones – The operation of drones anywhere within or near the circuit is not allowed.
  • Glass, metal, or wooden containers – These materials are restricted for safety reasons.
  • Sharp objects – Items such as knives, scissors, and other potentially dangerous sharp objects will not be permitted.

Parking

The Chang International Circuit in Buriram features a parking system for both cars and motorcycles, ensuring smooth access for large crowds attending major events like MotoGP. 

Car parking is primarily located near Gate 1, close to the Buriram United Football Stadium, also known as Thunder Castle Stadium. This area offers convenient access for general spectators.

Motorcycle parking is available near Gate 2, just outside Turn 1. Given the popularity of motorcycle racing events at the circuit, this area is designed to accommodate a high volume of motorbikes while ensuring efficient traffic flow.

The official Buriram MotoGP Campsite offers a dedicated space for fans attending the event. Accommodation options include tents, cabins, and bungalows, providing a range of choices for visitors. Availability may be limited, so checking in advance is recommended.

Khao Yai National Park, located about two hours from Buriram, provides a scenic alternative with camping areas equipped with basic amenities such as restrooms and water stations. This option is ideal for those looking for a more natural setting.

Local camping grounds and farm stays may also be available during the MotoGP weekend. Some landowners open their properties to visitors, so checking local forums or making inquiries in the area can help uncover additional options.

Booking in advance is strongly recommended, as campsites tend to fill up quickly for the MotoGP weekend.

About the circuit

Chang International Circuit, also known as Buriram International Circuit, is Thailand’s leading motorsport venue. Located in Buriram, approximately 400 km northeast of Bangkok, the circuit opened in 2014 and has since become a major destination for international racing. Designed by Hermann Tilke, it meets FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A standards.

The track has a length of 4.554 km with 12 corners and a longest straight of one kilometre. It provides a mix of high-speed sections and technical turns, creating a challenge for both riders and teams. 

MotoGP made its debut at Chang International Circuit in 2018, marking Thailand’s first-ever Grand Prix. The race quickly gained popularity, attracting massive crowds and delivering intense battles. The inaugural event saw Marc Márquez claim victory after a thrilling duel with Andrea Dovizioso. 

Beyond MotoGP, the circuit has hosted various international and regional racing series, including the Superbike World Championship.
